UberConference for Google Docs

I discovered a very interesting app, UberConference, this afternoon.  The only problem is that it is not working right now.  I will have to try it later.  It has lots of potential for group work.  Essentially, the user can establish a webinar connection to collaborative work.  The app is free.  If you have Google Docs open, click Add-ons > Search for UberConference.  Once it is downloaded, click it to activate the app.  When the app works correctly, it should display a phone number for collaborators to use.  You can add the email addresses for others and the app will send an email to the users with the phone number.
After I activated the app, I received an error message stating that the app could not connect with the server.  I tried it again and UberConference appeared on the right side of the window, but it was blank (indicating it did not connect with the server).
A YouTube video displaying how the app "should" work is below.

Online Meeting app

Recently, I shared information about join.me, a free app that allows for monitor sharing. This past weekend I learned about an app that allows for a online meetings - FuzeMe. A free trial service is available. To learn more go to http://www.fuzemeeting.com/

What is unique about this app is that it works with all mobile devices. The invitation data is imported from your device contact list. The monthly fee for the regular product makes the app less desirable for educators. At any rate, the app is worth exploring.

Whiteboard Sharing app

This weekend I attended the Southern Regional Faculty Development and Instructional Consortium (SRFDIC)meeting at Auburn University. Besides lots of networking with great friends, the presentations were fantastic. Those of us with iPads had a terrific time sharing apps. Whiteboard sharing (http://www.greengar.com/apps/whiteboard/ ) is an interesting concept. It allows two devices (iPhones and iPads) to connect via wifi to share drawings. I experimented with my iPhone and iPad this morning. I noted a few seconds time lag, but it worked flawlessly! It might be useful when designing models to convey concepts collaboratively.

Join.me

Discovered a new app that allows users to share the desktop of a Mac or PC with others who have a mobile device, such as an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch (probably works with  Droids, too). The FREE app is Join.me https://join.me/.  Participants can also use the app to share files and chat.

Google Wave

I received my invitation to join Google Wave this morning (4 days after I submitted my request for an account)!  As noted in the video links below, Google Wave was designed to provide real time email collaboration and includes the ability to use multimedia.

I had heard about it a while back did not take the time to explore until I talked to NW the other day after the Serious Gaming presentation. Take the time to check out these videos for more information:

I am working on course prep for my Integrating Technology into the Healthcare Educator Role class.  I reflected on the polling software that was used in yesterday's webinar and decided to do some additional exploration.  I reviewed the Digital Inspiration web site at http://www.labnol.org/internet/best-web-polling-software/6207/ which provided a summary about a number of polling software solutions.  The polling software that I have explored to date include:
I also explored Jane Hart's web site that lists the Top 100 Tools for Learning 2009.  Using the resources on that site, I explored DimDim online meeting software.  It is free for up to 25 users.  You can anticipate watching me experiment with some of these software solutions.  I welcome hearing about your experiences and recommendations.
